What is Settings Lock?
Settings Lock is a passcode-secured feature that locks device settings behind a 4-digit PIN. It helps prevent accidental configuration changes — like layout or display edits — so the device stays set up the way it should be.
When Settings Lock is on, all communication apps (Talk, Type, Draw, Therapy, Media, etc.) remain fully accessible.
Turn On Settings Lock
1. Select the blue settings menu button on the top-right corner.
2.Select General Settings from the top right.
3.Scroll on the left panel, and select Usage Controls.
4. Select Settings Lock and tap the toggle to turn it on.
5. A Create PIN window will appear. Use the on-screen keypad to enter a 4-digit PIN.
6. On the Verify PIN screen, re-enter the same 4-digit PIN to confirm.
7. A Success message confirms: “Your PIN has been updated.”
Once enabled, two new options appear under Settings Lock in Usage Controls: Reset PIN and Forgot PIN. A lock icon also appears on the Menu icon in the info bar to show the device settings are protected.
Access Settings While Locked
1. Select the blue settings menu button on the top-right corner.
2. An Enter PIN prompt appears. Enter your 4-digit PIN on the keypad.
3. Settings opens normally — you can adjust Display, Usage Controls, and all other settings as usual.
Reset (Change) Your PIN
1. Open Settings (enter your PIN when prompted) .
2.Select General Settings from the top right.
3.Scroll on the left panel, and select Usage Controls.
4. Under Settings Lock, tap the Reset PIN button.
4. When prompted, enter your current 4-digit PIN to continue.
5. On the Create PIN screen, enter your new 4-digit PIN.
6. Re-enter the new PIN on the Verify PIN screen.
7. A Success message confirms: “Your PIN has been updated.”
Turn Off Settings Lock
1. Open Settings (enter your PIN when prompted) .
2.Select General Settings from the top right.
3.Scroll on the left panel, and select Usage Controls.
4. Tap the Settings Lock toggle to turn it off.
4. The Reset PIN and Forgot PIN options disappear, the lock icon is removed from the Menu icon, and Settings can be opened without a PIN.
