Lingraphica software update adds Message Window, favorite phrases, and more
Published on Aug 13, 2025
With each update to Lingraphica AAC devices, our goal is to make communication more natural, more flexible, and more aligned with the way people prefer to express themselves. Our latest software update builds on that mission with meaningful updates that improve how users build messages, save commonly used phrases, and fine-tune how words are spoken.
The highlight of this release is Message Window: a new way to combine multiple words or phrases into full sentences before speaking. It’s designed to support smoother, more complete communication, whether you’re making a request, telling a story, or planning your day. We’ve also added Favorite Phrases in Type, so commonly used messages are easier to save and repeat. And with Alternative Pronunciation, users can adjust how words sound to better reflect their own voice.
Each of these updates reflects real feedback from AAC users, care partners, and clinicians. Together, they create a more seamless and personalized communication experience.
Build complete thoughts with Message Window
Now you can create full phrases or sentences by selecting multiple Cards in Talk. Instead of speaking one Card at a time, the new Message Window lets you build messages piece by piece, then speak the whole thing at once. Just turn it on in Talk Settings to get started.
You can also adjust how it works, like whether Cards speak as you select them, or how words are highlighted during playback. It’s a flexible, intuitive way to build fuller messages and express complete thoughts more clearly, on your own terms.
For example, users can now build messages like:
- Can I have / a glass of water / please
- I feel / tired / today
- I need help / getting dressed
- I don’t like / that sound / it’s too loud
- I would like / to call / my sister
Save go-to phrases in Type

When you type a message in the Type app, it now saves automatically to your Recents list. You can also mark frequently used phrases as Favorites, making it easy to reuse them anytime. Just minimize the keyboard to access recent and favorite messages, or save a typed phrase as a new Talk Card. It keeps your go-to phrases ready when you need them.
Fine-tune how words sound with Alternative Pronunciation

If a word doesn’t sound quite right, you can now fix it. Add a phonetic spelling to any word in a Card’s spoken message using the new Alternative Pronunciation option in the Card Editor.
For example:
- Appalachian: “App-uh-latch-in” or “App-uh-lay-chin”
- Bass: “base” (instrument) or “bass” (fish)
- Elena: “Eh-lay-nuh,” “El-eh-nuh,” or “Ee-lay-nuh”
Preview the sound, adjust as needed, and make sure the device says things your way. This feature is especially helpful for names, regional terms, or words with more than one correct pronunciation.
In case you missed it: Highlights from 3.10
- Custom visual scene displays: Add personal photos with tap-to-speak hotspots to reflect real places, people, and routines.
- Themes: Pick from multiple color themes to improve visibility and make the device feel more like your own.
- Mixed media albums: Combine photos, videos, audio, and drawings in a single album to support richer storytelling.
- Other updates: Offline voice support, swipe-lock for page navigation, image cropping, and the option to disable web image search.
Together, these updates keep building on what makes Lingraphica’s AAC platform work: flexible tools, meaningful customization, and communication that feels personal.
