Reimagine what AAC can do for your clients

A simple, supported AAC device trial process thoughtfully designed to reduce your administrative burden and strengthen client progress.

How a trial works

Step 1: Verify insurance coverage

Complete a brief form with your client’s information. We’ll confirm their insurance coverage before the trial begins

Step 2: We personalize the device

Our team prepares a loaner device with words, phrases, and settings tailored to your client’s goals, interests, and access needs.

Step 3: Try the device with your client

Work with your client to see if the device is a good fit. You lead the trial, and your Clinical Consultant is here to support you the entire time.

Step 4: Move forward with confidence

If the device is a good fit, we’ll guide the next steps — including evaluation, paperwork, and permanent device delivery.

Device trial FAQs

How long does it take to get a trial device?

We get started on your request right away. Once your intake is submitted, most trial devices ship within 2–3 business days.

Does insurance cover a device if my client needs one long-term?

Our devices are Medicare reimbursable and often covered by state Medicaid, private insurance, VAs, and other funding sources. We also offer flexible payment and financial assistance options for any out-of-pocket costs. We’ll work with you to help determine coverage, handle paperwork, and seek an out-of-pocket waiver based on eligibility when needed.

How do I know if my client is a good fit for AAC?

There’s really no one-size-fits-all answer when it comes to AAC. If your client has challenges with communication, it’s worth exploring. A trial or a short call with our team can help determine if a device is the right fit — and we’re here to support you through that process.

How do I know if my client’s diagnosis is appropriate for an AAC trial?

AAC can support individuals with a wide range of conditions that affect communication. There’s no single “right” diagnosis — clients with aphasia, apraxia, progressive conditions, developmental disabilities, and more may all benefit. A trial gives you the opportunity to see how a device can support your client’s specific communication goals, regardless of their diagnosis, age, or time since onset.

Once I start the trial, am I on my own?

Absolutely not! Each trial is supported by a full team of specialists — handling everything from benefits and customization to training and documentation. You’ll work directly with a Clinical Consultant who provides 1:1 support, including setup help and weekly check-ins. If you have questions at any step—shipping, benefits, device use, or anything else—we’re here to help.

Can I see or test a device before committing to a trial?

Yes! A demo is the perfect way to see how the device can work for your clients — and for you. You can explore how it’s customized, what features it includes, and how support works. You can schedule your free demo here.
